Geotechnical Reports

We provide comprehensive Geotechnical Reports (also known as Geotech Reports or Site Classification Reports) in accordance with Australian Standards to support residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments. Each report is prepared by qualified Geotechnical Engineers with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and practical recommendations.

Geotechnical site investigation

A Geotechnical Report provides vital information about the subsurface conditions at a construction site. Our engineers perform thorough site investigations to assess soil strength, composition, and behaviour under load, helping ensure that structures are safe and cost-effective.

Investigations are carried out in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1726-2017 to evaluate the general soil and rock conditions. The results are analysed to determine suitable footing systems, bearing capacities, and Site Classifications in line with AS 2870-2011.

Our reports provide clear, objective recommendations based on engineering principles. They also include commentary on construction feasibility, material suitability, and long-term ground performance. The aim is to simplify decision-making for engineers, builders, and homeowners alike.

Scope of Our Geotechnical Reports

Depending on project needs, and our agreed scope of work, our reports may include one or more of the following assessments:

  • › Site / Soil Classification in accordance with AS 2870-2011
  • › Exposure Classification in accordance with AS 2159-2009
  • › Wind Classification in accordance with AS 4055-2012
  • › Excavatibility assessment for basement or trenching works
  • › Bearing Capacity for shallow and deep foundations
  • › Slope stability assessment and risk evaluation
  • › Additional recommendations based on project-specific ground conditions
Geotechnical soil analysis report

All reports are prepared in compliance with local council and regulatory requirements. Each Geotechnical Report is presented clearly, with findings and recommendations structured for easy interpretation and application during design and construction stages.

Our engineers ensure every report reflects site-specific conditions, delivering practical and cost-effective outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.

New Bunnings Warehouse, Smithfield

Geotechnical investigation for Bunnings Warehouse, Smithfield

Epoch Services conducted a detailed geotechnical investigation and laboratory analysis for the development of a new Bunnings Warehouse in Smithfield, Sydney. The investigation involved sub-surface drilling, in-situ testing, and laboratory classification of soil and rock samples to determine design parameters for foundations and retaining walls.

Our geotechnical engineers also provided onsite construction support during the building phase, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and maintaining safe and economical foundation solutions.
